Originally from Spokane, Kevin earned a Bachelor of Arts from Washington State University before completing his Master’s through WSU’s Teaching Program.

He began his career as a high school teacher in the Renton School District at Hazen High School, where he taught Leadership and Spanish. Kevin later transitioned into school administration through the University of Washington’s Danforth Educational Leadership Program, where his studies centered on racial equity in education. While completing the program, he served as Dean of Students, deepening his work in restorative practices, inclusive systems, and student‑centered leadership. Kevin has served as an Assistant Principal in both the Bellevue School District and the Renton School District, including several years at Talley High School. He is especially proud of leading the development of a Restorative Justice system that resulted in a sustained 75% reduction in behavior referrals, contributing to stronger relationships, improved school climate, and more equitable outcomes for students.

As Principal of Innovation Heights Academy, Kevin is excited to lead the continued development of Highline’s reengagement program. In this role, IHA has increased pass rates for students by 24% through innovative programmatic design including Project Based Learning, Mastery Based Learning, Inclusive Design Structures, and modified schedules through the Alternative Learning Experience. He is deeply committed to serving students who have been historically marginalized and to building equitable, student‑centered systems of support that empower students to reconnect with school and achieve their academic and personal goals.
